Kate Jones is a Clinical Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Psychology with first class honours at the University of Sydney. She then went on to complete a Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney in 2018. She is a member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Kate has a passion for working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families across a broad range of areas. She generally sees clients who present with mild to moderate symptomatology. Kate will typically see clients for regular therapy sessions across a 6 month period.

Kate utilises evidence-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness-Integrated CBT. Across her professional development, Kate has been involved in social, emotional, and behavioural skills training programs for children, adolescents, and their parents/carers. Kate is looking forward to developing her skills in play therapy, and is now offering animal-assisted therapy (AAT) – transferring both her interests in working with children and animals into the therapy room.

When she doesn’t have her psychologist hat on, Kate enjoys bushwalking, snowboarding, volunteering for greyhound rescue groups, and admiring the architecture, culture, and food of new cities.

My name is Astrid, and I am a 10-year-old rescue Greyhound. I have been trained and assessed by Therapy Dogs Australia to help Kate with Animal-Assisted Therapy. You might see me around the therapy room, and if you do, please give me a pat!

Here's a little bit more about me: I enjoy being patted on my back and tummy, my favourite food is broccoli, my favourite animals are sloths, I love swimming at the beach, I love dress-ups, and most of all, I LOVE snoozing!
